Right now in this moment you are loud.
Right now you boisterous and crazy.
You are in my face and a mile a minute.
Right now you kiss me with your mouth open.
You fight to keep the boogers in your nose.
You are sloppy kisses and a quick smile.
Right now you cry when you're angry.
You scream when you're frustrated.
You feel that sleep is unnecessary.
Right now you are throwing your food on the floor.
Right now you are busy every moment.
Right now you are constantly growing.
You are pushing the laundry basket like a firetruck.
A moment ago you were a squishy newborn.
You were content to just look at it all.
Your smiles were gas and you squealed a lot.
A moment ago I was begging for more time.
Still not yet realizing how fleeting this time would be.
A moment ago you were still in my tummy.
In the blink of my eyes you'll be going to school.
I'll be helping with homework and sports.
In the blink of an eye you'll have that attitude.
Well, you will be able to verbalize that attitude.
Kail
Right at this moment you are my cuddle buddy.
My superhero- who's wears three costumes at once.
Right now you are the best big brother in the world.
Right now you are loving preschool.
You say hangerburgers and I love it.
Right now you only want one thing for Christmas.
Right now you are a saint of a child.
Right now you have the softest heart.
You played zombie frogs.
A moment ago I was brand new to you
and you decided you loved me.
I remember the first night I cuddled you.
A moment ago you were afraid of the bathtub
and you followed me everywhere.
I remember the first "I love you".
In the blink of an eye you'll 15.
You will probably hate my guts.
You'll be driving girls insane with those blue eyes.
In the blink of eye you'll be an adult.
You will grow and leave and change.
In the blink of an eye you'll be a man.
Motherhood is bittersweet.
It is cherishing these moments:
when your child's head is covered in Vaseline,
and he painted his bedroom walls.
It's pulling your hair out saying
" I told you 3 times to stay out of the kitchen"
in the same breath begging them not to grow up.
Because you will put them to bed-
you will cuddle them close
and you will forget what is sticky in your hair.
You will look at sleeping angelic faces and
forget all the chasing, running, and hair pulling-
because they will grow and you will miss it.
Every time I hear "Slipping through my fingers" By: ABBA I cry and this is why.
