Every person faces some adversity in life, it comes in different forms and ways for each of us. It is how we handle that adversity that molds us as people. I do not know how I would act facing the pain that Zach did, or that any person in faces with terminal illness but he was incredible. You could see it all over his face, he was a light, he was alive with happiness and love. That is powerful. There is power in negative energy that is recognized, what we forget is the power of light.
What I learned from Zach Sobiech is this: there is power in deciding to be happy to spread happiness. Emotion can spread like a virus, it's all in what we decide to spread. Misery loves company but so does affection. love, and bliss. I want to live a life touching people with happiness, goodness, kindness, and life.
I have had my own struggles, what I have been learning over and over again most recently is that there is more power in goodness conquering that negativity and pain than allowing the hurt to triumph. It's never the easier road but it is so much better. My mother tells me all the time "You can only do what you can only do." What I take from that is that you have to start small, we can't all reach out to millions. You have to make a difference in the small places.
I have a few ideas on how to start this, I don't want to share them just yet. I will be starting a few projects on spreading happiness. As they come together I'll share them here. I know I haven't posted much lately, it's been a part of me sitting in my own struggles, I'm trying to break away from that. I retreat from the world when things get tough, I want to make a point that in place of retreating, I open up and spread the joy midst the struggle.
Blessings to everyone!
Love, Hannah
