NA Na Na Na Na Na Na Na BATMAN!

I love getting family photos done! That being said, in my opinion it's an undertaking. I myself, am pretty picky on photographers, just anybody who own's a decent camera does not a photographer make. That also being said, who has 200-400 dollars to spend on a photoshoot?

I researched for a while, I compared prices and quality and availability Not everyone has the time to do this, I really felt that I got the best and I was really happy with the results. I think a great tool for researching is facebook. Bear with me, I know how that sounds. However, a lot of photographers use this as an advertising tool. .Creating "pages" to showcase their portfolio's. I found this to be incredibly helpful because I could see a great variety of work.

We ended with a GREAT photographer! I couldn't have been more pleased! So, we booked our date (which of course I got wrong, thankfully the wonderful Don and Danielle of DSW photography handled that with utter grace).

After booking our session I needed to decide how we were going to do the shoot. I wanted something fun and nice. With two little boys I knew there was room for something really playful.

Superheros (especially Batman) are a big part of our home. From our movies, room decor, to crafts, we love superheros. So last minute, I grabbed all our Batman shirts, capes, and masks and we headed out!

This turned out to be awesome! It lent so well to the boys! I felt like we didn't look too "matchy matchy" and still had a nice "theme" so to speak. I loved the playfulness of it. It's very much how our family is! We had a great time doing this.

We had great photographer team who helped motivate the kids (they were a little tired but you wouldn't know it from our pictures). They were open to our ideas and input but also came in with great ideas as well. They were great at disarming our jitters and bringing out the best. Personally, I think you have to be able to really trust the person behind the camera, at least to an extent. Having your picture taken in an extreme moment of vulnerability. So, Don and Danielle's immediate ability to create a comfortable atmosphere is really a big key to me.

Being that our "shoot" was but a few days ago I don't yet have all the photos to share (I will soon though). Here however is a preview of some of the great shots we got!
