We decided to rearrange things. This week we did "Knights, Chivalry" Week. I found these cute gauntlets, sword, and sheild at Dollar Tree and thought up some fun crafts!
(See the creative and crafty page for our craft ideas)
We introduced this by talking about "Knights" he may know. (Batman for example) Then we talked about what Knights do. Throughout the week we've watched some cute movies like "Knight's Tale" and read some "King Arthur" Fairy Tales. To help put these into perspective and aid imagination.
Then we talked about some "Knightly" activities. We decided to "Joust" and have our own jousting tournament.
And A tournament we had!
Pool noodles are probably the most versitle thing, I've bought!
We had them stand away from each other and "gallap" at eachother and wallop eachother with our "noodle lances".
K got to ride on his father's shoulders! He then dismounted to make sure he got his opponent! They had a blast!! We want to do this again with more kids, but it was fun to get outside and let the boys romp around!
This was a fun, get outside and play activity. Noodles are soft and it's fun to just get them moving but unlike play swords, they don't risk injury. Everyone had fun. :)
