J loved the fire truck the most. He could have played on that the entire time we were there. K loved the water exhibits, which were pretty much a hit with everyone (thank goodness we brought changes of clothes).
We also loved the "Think shop" where kids (with parental supervision) can use real hand tools to craft projects that kids can take home! K and I worked on a bird feeder that he and Daddy will finish together! We got so enthralled in playing we didn't get to the free classes they offer, this day they offered a pottery class that included wheel work, and for a small fee you could glaze and fire your piece to take home!
This was an inexpensive but all around fun day trip! They learned and played and had so much fun! While the exhibits have changed since I was a child, I remember being mesmerized by how much there was to do and how fun it was visiting this very museum. It was really cool getting to share it with the boys! We will be making trips back! We concluded with a trip to a local Farmer's Market (they had troubadours!) Sadly, technology failed me and I don't have Farmer's Market pictures. It ended being quite a day! We made lot of memories together!
A special thank you to Kalyn Shaffer for taking such great pictures and to her family for coming along and sharing this with us.
