American's dont' care, ultimately. They can name the Kardashian sisters but they can't name any of the people in their state who represent them. (see side bar). Here's looking at you 18-25 year olds. Pony up guys. While yes, those reality stars get more press, the info is right there. These are the people have more power over our immediate government.
American's don't care. 1) Have we got someone to hate: check 2) Can we blame them for bigger problems: check 3) Can we hide issues in hate: check 4) Can we put it in a sound-bite or a meme: check 5) Taking money: check Done. Equals Government. If Americans could vote for President via facebook or Twitter, the voter turn out would be wild!!! Unregulated sure, but hey, 400,000% increase man! Everyone needs to have an adult 9th grade social studies course they're forced to take every 10 years. We don't care. There's revolution when we care. | Side Bar:Just to prove my point: *Senior Senator: Chuck Grassley. This one I knew. He was a part of creating the STAMP act, against polictical insider trading. *Junior Senator: Joni Ernst. Knew: because I voted against her. *Governor: Terry Brandstad Knew: He's been our Governor for -forever. I live in District 2, we elected David Loebsack (him I looked up). The only Dem. in our current group of represenatives and while we have more republicans in office right now, we're typically a more split state despite having voted Dem in 6 of the last 7 elections. |
Vote. Read. Refresh on the process. I love discussing it-discussion breeds new ideas.
I'd like to leave you with this:
Are you afraid right now? Are you falling for the hate tactics? "Bad people can't be recognized on sight. There's no point in trying. You want to get these people? I mean, you really want to reach in and kill them where they live? Keep accepting more than one idea. It makes them absolutely crazy." - West Wing
#Murica2016
There's something happening here
What it is ain't exactly clear
There's a man with a gun over there
Telling me I got to beware
I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
459 Gun death in the first 15 days of 2016
90 of them were kids (12-17)
21 were under kids 12
kids.
There's battle lines being drawn
Nobody's right if everybody's wrong
Young people speaking their minds
Getting so much resistance from behind
I think it's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Black Lives Matter originally used social media—including hashtag activism—to reach thousands of people rapidly. Since then, Black Lives Matters has embraced a diversity of tactics. BLM generally engages in direct action tactics that make people uncomfortable enough that they must address the issue
What a field-day for the heat
A thousand people in the street
Singing songs and carrying signs
Mostly say, hooray for our side
It's time we stop, hey, what's that sound
Everybody look what's going down
Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you're always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away
Hate crimes targeting Muslims, their mosques and businesses, have tripled this year and the bulk of the attacks have occurred in recent weeks.
